Top tips for GCSE results day 2019
As students across the country prepare to receive their GCSE results this week, Lisa Capper, Nacro Principal (pictured above) advises students how they can prepare to make the best of results day.
GCSE results day can be a scary time but it doesnβt have to be. Whether you receive the grades you hope for or not, there is a course, apprenticeship, training or work experience placement out there that is right for you. Keep in mind these simple top tips as you approach GCSE results day so that you can make the best decision for you, once you know your grades.
- Do your best to keep calm and acknowledge all your hard work to get this far.Β You should be proud of what you have achieved.
- Think again about what you want to do next. Is it a course or do you want to gain work experience or develop a specific skill?
- What happens if you donβt get the grades you hoped for? Do not worry. Whatever your results, you can take steps towards a bright future. It is important to take action now.
- Find the right person to talk to about your next move β it could be a parent/carer, teacher at your school or staff at a further education provider. Talking things through will help you to decide what the best option is for you.
