Supporting care leavers
Life can be tough when you’re starting out. Being in the care system can add extra challenges at a time that’s already difficult for young people. We support young people in care and those leaving care across a range of our services. Our aim is to make sure they are set up for their futures in the strongest way possible.
Our services
Nacro Education Support and Transition (NEST)
Our NEST service provides supported housing for young people, including care leavers, who would otherwise be homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide a range of accommodation options from high-need to move-on. We work with each young person to find out what educational, training, work and personal needs they have, and tailor our support to those needs.
We run our NEST services across Lewisham, Wandsworth, Essex and Lincolnshire, funded by local authorities. Our Lewisham and Lincolnshire sites also offer Ofsted registered accommodation for children in care aged 16-17 years.
Education
We support many young people in care and care leavers across our education services. Our education centres offer a wide range of courses, tailored to individual learner needs. We provide a safe, friendly environment and our small class sizes mean we can provide each learner with the time and attention they deserve.
