Our Criminal Record Support Services provides a range of advice and guidance for employers and practitioners who are working with individuals that have a criminal record. Employing someone with a criminal record

Many employers employ people with criminal records and have incredibly positive experiences of doing so.


DBS checks

As an employer, you have the right to ask people about their criminal record and to request a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.


Asking about criminal records

All employers are entitled to ask applicants to disclose details of any convictions which are not yet spent.


Risk assessments

Before you carry out your risk assessment, it is important that you have gathered as much information as possible.
