GCSE Results Day 2026: Celebrating our student’s achievements

We want to say a massive congratulations to every student at Nacro Education who received their results this morning. We know that getting to this point takes resilience, hard work, and courage — whatever your result, we’re here to explore next steps with you.

We’re proud to share that Nacro students have once again achieved GCSE Maths and English resit pass rates well above published comparable national rates. Our 25/26 results show that over 96% of students studying with us pass their GCSE Maths and English.

Behind this headline are the individual efforts of every student who sat an exam or completed an assessment this year. Read some of their stories below.

Student’s stories

Chelsea

Before joining Nacro Education, Chelsea attended secondary school but felt she would benefit from a smaller learning environment where she could feel more comfortable and supported. That’s exactly what she found at Nacro Education.

“The teachers and smaller classes were a real support and made it easier for me to feel comfortable.” – Chelsea

Chelsea has passed her English and Maths GCSE. She has been studying Animal Care Level 1, alongside her GCSE English and Maths, and is thrilled to be progressing onto Animal Care Level 2. She particularly enjoyed English and loved spending time caring for the animals on her course.

Chelsea hopes to continue her studies before building a career in animal care, with a particular interest in working with dogs.

Charlie, student at Nacro Education

Charlie really enjoyed his construction course at Nacro, especially because of his teacher. Today he’s passed his English GCSE and is really happy. He has got a place for further education at the local college to pursue his dream of working in plumbing.

The students have done tremendously well and we’re all so proud of their progress as well as their preparation for their next steps. It’s been a great day. For those who didn’t get the results they were hoping for today, don’t worry. There’s always tomorrow. Students can come back to us and retake their exams if they need to.

Aimee, student at Nacro Education

Aimee has been studying a Childcare qualification at Nacro alongside her GCSEs. She has really enjoyed her time here, and has progressed with many technical skills. Since joining Nacro, Aimee has been an active student voice representative and has gained a lot of confidence. She’s now wants to work in a nursery and is excited about the future.

What to do if you’re disappointed with your results

We understand how tough it can feel when things don’t go as planned. Remember, this isn’t the end of your journey. Here are some helpful steps you can take:

Share how you’re feeling with someone you trust.
Take care of yourself – recognise and celebrate the hard work you’ve put in, whatever the outcome.
If you are a Nacro Education student, speak to the staff who are on-site today. They’re here to support you by explaining your options, such as resitting exams next year, appealing results, or getting advice from careers staff and the National Careers Service.
If you are not a Nacro student, speak to a staff member at your school or education provider – they will be able to help you with your options or signpost you to other support.
