Campbell Robb, Chief Executive of Nacro, a social justice charity which has been commissioned to deliver probation services in accommodation and personal wellbeing, said:

“We are looking forwards to playing a central role in delivering positive outcomes to thousands of people as part of the reunified probation service. It is good to see a focus on wellbeing and holistic support to reducing reoffending as part of this. Long term investment in stable, suitable accommodation is also essential to this.

“Working in partnership with local organisations, we will help people across the country by giving them the support and advice needed to maintain a safe and secure place to live, and trying to helping them to remove the barriers preventing so many of them from moving on with their lives.

“This will include encouragement and motivation to make healthy choices, develop positive relationships and influences, access mainstream services and play a proactive role within the local community. By putting the person at the centre of the support, we give people the chance they need to create a better life, reduce reoffending and create safer communities for everyone.”
