What we do
This service supports people on probation in their transition from prison and reintegration into community life. The aim is to build independence and resilience enabling them to live independently and reduce reoffending.
Our service in Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire provides finance, benefit and debt advice and support to men under supervision of the Probation Service.
The service offer
Our interventions are delivered in one-to-one or small group settings.
- Ensuring people have access to the benefits and funding they are entitled to.
- Quantifying debt and agreeing manageable repayment plans.
- Ensuring access to ID.
- Helping to develop skills in financial literacy, responsible spending and understanding loans.
- Access to bank accounts and developing online banking skills.
The service can be delivered face to face at local probation offices  virtually, or by telephone.
This service is grant-funded by the Ministry of Justice, aligned to the wider Commissioned Rehabilitation Services that deliver rehabilitation and resettlement interventions and services across England and Wales.
Eligibility
To be eligible a person must be:
- A sentenced male adult 18 or over.
- Under supervision of the Probation service in the community.
