Delivering housing support for young people across Nottingham
Nacro has been awarded a long term contract to deliver housing and support services for vulnerable young people in Nottingham including those that are homeless.
For over 50 years, Nacro has been supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the country through housing, education, health and justice services. As a leading provider offering innovative models to commissioners, including for prevention and early intervention, Nacro will build upon its existing services in Nottingham to provide a city-wide service for young people offering a “Housing First” model including homes for young women only. Our solution will enable young people to become members of a local community while working to achieve their aspirations, by support through education and into employment, as we enable them to access vocational education, apprenticeships and work experience. Nacro will also work to meet Nottingham’s business charter objectives to support the local economy.
Nacro Director of Housing, Joanne Drew, said:
“A safe, secure home is the foundation to creating the bright future that all young people deserve. Our Nottingham solution will enable young people to establish roots in a community and to build and follow their dreams. As a housing provider we are pleased to be able to work with the City Council to support it in meeting new obligations arising from the Homelessness Reduction Act.”
