Nacro response to Ministry of Justice’s Sentencing White Paper
In response to Ministry of Justice’s Sentencing White Paper, Nacro Chief Executive Campbell Robb said:
“Some welcome announcements today on criminal records and a focus on education and substance misuse but these are outweighed by the pressure that longer sentences will put on an already stretched system and the need for fundamental reform.
“With a thousand people leaving prison homeless every month there is an urgent need to focus on fixing the building blocks of our criminal justice system to ensure public safety and stop re-offending.”
