Today marks exactly 60 years since Nacro was founded. For six decades, we’ve been helping people build brighter futures – supporting hundreds of thousands of people to overcome barriers, rebuild their lives and take the next step forward.
We’ve achieved a lot in 60 years. But we aren’t stopping.
At Nacro, we want everyone to have the chance to succeed. A society where a safe, secure home, a decent education, and a second chance when things go wrong are foundations we can all build our lives on.
Today, we provide practical help and personalised support through our education, housing, justice, and health and wellbeing services.
We work alongside people, giving them the support and skills they need to thrive – and we campaign with them to change the systems and barriers that hold people back.
Marking our 60th year
As we begin our 60th anniversary year, we’re celebrating the people who make Nacro what it is: our staff, volunteers, students, and the people we support. Their dedication, experience and determination have shaped our work for six decades.
To mark this milestone, we’re launching 60 Stories – a growing collection of experiences shared in people’s own words.
These stories give an insight into the impact of our work and the strength of the Nacro community across England and Wales.
They reflect who we are, what we stand for, and why we continue to step up to this challenge – in our 60th year and into the future.
