Nacro Education Granted Skills Builder Gold Award

Published:

We’re delighted to announce that Nacro Education teams have been awarded the Skills Builder Gold Award by Skills Builder Partnership. The partnership is a global, digital hub of educators, employers, organisations and governments working to help learners develop skills such as leadership, planning, team building, listening and problem-solving. The Gold Award puts Nacro Education amongst a top, select group of schools and colleges who have demonstrated a significant commitment to building students’ essential skills.

Nacro Education have been members of the Skills Builder Partnership for just one year. The Gold Award is a testament to all of the colleagues and students who have embraced the skills model and tools, making it part of what Nacro Education does day to day. As part of the framework, we support students to individually set targets and reflect on progress, and through dedicated skills lessons.

We are also introducing skills events and competitions for students, as well as supporting staff to reflect on their own skills, as the framework is designed to help everyone grow.
There is more to come as Nacro Education will continue working with Skills Builder in 2025-26, providing students with even more development opportunities.

Congratulations to everyone for making this award happen, and a special thanks to Daniel Adams for co-ordinating the Skills Builder partnership which made this Award possible.

About Nacro Education

We see your future, whatever your past.

The people we work with are at a point of change. Many have struggled; growing up in care, facing homelessness, failed by the education system or caught up in the tide of the criminal justice system. The challenges we face shape who we are, but our past shouldn’t dictate our future.

We believe that everyone deserves a good education, a safe and secure place to live, a chance to be heard, and the chance to start again, with support from someone on their side.

We provide practical help through our housing, education, criminal justice and substance misuse services, working closely with people to support them to build independence and to move forward to a better future. We’re compassionate and strong, determined and flexible. And we never give up on people. But this isn’t enough on it’s own. We need the barriers holding people back removed, and systems we all rely on improved, to give everyone a fair chance.

The voices of those most affected are often ignored, so we fight with them to be heard. We use the insights from our services and our experience to campaign alongside for meaningful changes in society for those who need it most.
