What we do
Step Forward is an intensive housing management service in Lincoln and Grantham, which aims to move people with low-level tenancy related support needs into their own permanent accommodation.
We provide accommodation and help to equip people with the skills, attitude and confidence needed to go on to live successful, independent lives.
We look to accept people who have successfully completed a package of supported housing, or those who can demonstrate they have relevant independent living skills.
The accommodation we provide and manage ranges from self-contained to shared facilities, which are fully furnished.
We also provide the following:
- Help to responsibly manage a tenancy in the long term, and to move on into the community to live independently.
- Learning skills in budgeting, paying bills, managing debt and claiming benefits.
- Signposting to specialist services and organisations.
Eligibility
Our service is available to adults and families aged 18 and over.
Applicants must have a local connection to the area to which they have applied; motivation to move on to privately rented accommodation, or a commitment to returning to the area they hold a local connection with at the end of service.
Priority is given to people leaving Lincolnshire City Council contracted services, e.g., Lincolnshire NEST (Nacro Education Support and Transition) and Lincolnshire Housing Related Support Partnership.
