Nacro response to HMI Probation Thematic Inspection report on accommodation support for prison leavers
In response to HMI Probation Accommodation Thematic Inspection report which found that a lack of housing is jeopardising public protection and rehabilitation of offenders, Nacro Chief Executive Campbell Robb said:
“This report hits the nail on the head. For far too long the scandal of people leaving prison homeless with little chance to turn their lives around has been overlooked. Without action, we are simply setting people up to fail. It is critical that government drives a cross-departmental approach to guarantee that everyone leaving prison has somewhere to stay. It’s time we gave people the best chance at a second chance”
