We invest in training to improve the quality and effectiveness of our services, working with expert providers including NSPCC, Homeless Link, Samaritans and Peoplesafe.
Nacro gained Investors in People (IIP) Silver accreditation in March 2017, confirming the organisation’s commitment to excellence in people management and development.
Our IIP report praised us for having continuous learning at the heart of the culture of the organisation, with people taking responsibility for their own learning.
Equality and diversity is embedded into everything we do, from recruitment through to retirement. Further to the 2016 review of the Equality and Diversity Policy, we are proud of the holistic approach we apply to our employment practices.
In 2016 Nacro supported 22 managers on higher apprenticeships to gain nationally recognised qualifications in leadership and management.
Staff engagement group
Nacro’s staff engagement group aims to promote positive communication and engagement. The group organised a staff engagement week in September 2016 which had a golden theme to mark Nacro’s 50th anniversary. Activities included staff awards, a golden photo competition and opportunities for staff to get together informally for quizzes, BBQs, bake offs and team building events.
