Education and skills courses in Leeds
At Nacro we believe in supporting all of our students to be the best. Our courses are delivered by friendly teachers and specialists in small groups who give each student the time and care they deserve. That’s why our students outperform industry averages and why 8 out of 10 go on to work, an apprenticeship or further learning when they leave.
We are England’s largest independent training provider of education and skills to 16–18 year olds and are rated Good by Ofsted.
At Nacro Leeds, you can choose from a range of courses and learn in a way that suits you. You can carry on learning and we can help you to apply for a job. You can choose from: Employment skills, English and maths, GCSE English and maths, Hospitality and catering, Mechanics and engineering.
English and maths can be only be offered to learners that require the grades. They are able to do so alongside their vocational course. Adult learners can select the course individually.
What we offer
At Nacro Leeds, we build strong, supportive relationships to help you feel safe, motivated and valued. We offer:
- Places for local young people to achieve qualifications
- Professional, experienced and dedicated staff
- Small class sizes
- Face-to-face learning, feedback and support for every learner
- Financial support and resources to attend courses
I really enjoy the lessons as the staff are patient and help us to understand the work in ways that suit us differently. I have also had lots of help from my teachers and my keyworker to help me with my health and educational needs. I have completed the remote learning during the last lockdown and I thought that the Zoom lessons and the IXL were really helpful to keep up with my work.
If you’re aged 16+ you can choose to complete a work placement in an area you’re interested in.

Nacro promotes a caring and aspirational culture that helps learners to make good progress, achieve well and take positive next steps in their education and employment. Qualification achievement rates are very strong, 8 out 10 qualifications were achieved in 2018/19, and substantially higher than sector averages.
We have worked with Leeds employers for the last 10 years. This way, local employers get to enrich their workforce at the same time as our learners get invaluable work experience, for the long-term benefit of the community around us.
Nationally, over 95% of Nacro students have taken part in work experience. Combined with a reference from the employer and their qualifications, this makes our learners job-ready. We have partnerships with 160 employers across a broad range of sectors and recently were selected as a model of best practice by the Learning and Work Institute for our engagement work.
