Course overview

This 10-12 week course is tailored specifically to help teenage parents-to-be prepare for parenthood.

Positive parenting & ante-natal classes are delivered by a specialist teacher and an NHS Specialist Midwife for teenagers. They empower, build confidence and self-esteem and help you to plan for future further education and employment.

What will I learn?

This course will focus on health in pregnancy, relationships, self-esteem, labour and caring for a baby. There are opportunities to do specific training on the course such as paediatric first aid.

• Skills for independent life
• Building a personal career portfolio
• Recognising volunteering opportunities

There is not a work experience element to this short course.

  • Participate in a range of activities, opportunities, team collaboration challenges and educational site visits that enable personal development through real experiences.

*GCSE/Functional Skills English and maths are only required if you haven’t already gained a level 4 or above.
