Leeds’ traineeship programme features on new Department of Education Amazing Apprenticeships website

Earlier this year, Nacro was approached by the Learning and Work Institute to take part in national research on the roll out and implementation of the Government’s traineeship programme.
These provide young people aged 16 – 24 years old who are not yet ready for the world of work with access to high quality work placements, wraparound qualification and pastoral support.

The LWI research identified our Leeds’ warehousing traineeship, delivered in partnership with the food charity FareShare, as a model of best practice and we were asked to take part in a video showing the impact these programmes have on NEET young people.

The video follows the story of trainee Liam Watson and how his traineeship developed his self confidence and work skills, and led to him progressing into employment.
