Improving the accommodation pathway for ex-offenders

Nacro Homes Agency is a social lettings agency established by Nacro as part of its Housing and Wellbeing services.

Our agency provides housing within the private rented sector for a variety of vulnerable groups, including ex-offenders who have difficulty accessing housing with support or independent housing themselves, for whatever reason.

We offer our residents quality housing with a rent and tenure suited to their circumstances and, where required, a personalised system of support and coaching to help them maintain their tenancies and prepare for a planned move on into independent accommodation.

Nacro has many years’ experience of working with social and private sector landlords. This is coupled with Nacro’s considerable experience of meeting the housing needs of local authorities and agencies in the ex-offender and substance misuse fields, providing well-established and priced models of delivery.

How we can help you meeting housing needs

We work with those individuals who are experiencing homelessness including:

  • Prison leavers
  • Ex-offenders on community orders
  • Specialised services for high risk ex-offenders
  • Women, including women with young children
  • Housing for older ex-offenders and ex-offenders with health and ability support needs (with care needs – delivered by separate Care Provider)
  • Housing for ex-offenders
  • Housing for ex-offenders with substance misuse issues
  • Housing for individuals with mental health and/or complex needs

We provide:

  • Good quality, mainly self-contained properties, with some two bed shared properties where this is more appropriate. Most of the properties are fully furnished.
  • We provide intensive housing management together with low levels of support but will also facilitate the provision of higher levels of support by other agencies.
  • Affordable housing within the Local Housing Allowance thresholds.
  • Private rented access service, where no current local authority service exists.
  • A sustainable housing solution without the need for repeated interventions.
  • An opportunity to place ex-offenders in the right accommodation at the right time.
