A qualified accountant for 25 years, Bob learnt his trade working for 20 years at large corporates including Thomas Cook, P&O, Sea Containers and the Halifax. This was followed by 17 years in the not-for-profit sector; first as Finance Director of the Football Trust, tasked by Government with assisting the rebuild of UK football grounds following the Hillsborough disaster, and then as Finance and Business Services Director of the renowned charity the Football Foundation, helping to deliver the regeneration of grass roots sport facilities.
Bob played a significant role in establishing the Foundation in a very short time as the UK’s largest sport charity, recognised by Government and the Charity Commission as a model of its type. The Foundation has helped to fund a number of Nacro initiatives over the last few years.
More recently Bob established his own consultancy to advise organisations on corporate and financial governance, project management and uses his extensive sporting network to enhance new and existing ventures. In addition to being Finance Director of Mobs Ventures Ltd, an entrepreneurial social media business, he is also part-time Finance Director of Crimestoppers Trust. As committee member and treasurer of a local girls’ and ladies’ football club, Bob is also a qualified referee and minibus driver.
