For several years we have taken the lead within the legal sector, providing opportunities for people with criminal records and Nacro has provided us with expert advice and support. They have delivered training to our HR staff on changes to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and disclosure and have also provided us with expert policy and operational support on risk assessing applicants with unspent criminal convictions. Nacro’s support helps us to ensure ex-offenders compete for roles on a level playing field so they can convince us of their ability to take on a particular role without our judgement being clouded by the fact that they have a record.
