Working in partnership
We believe that partnership working offers a unique opportunity to share ideas, creativity and resources. Our work with partner organisations means we can develop and deliver integrated services that are innovative, streamlined and cost-effective.
At the policy level, there is a drive to increase joint working between statutory bodies and voluntary organisations, through initiatives such as the third sector Compact. Meanwhile local authority area agreements are placing increased emphasis on area-based service delivery, which also requires stronger partnership working.
Practical and cost effective
Above all, partnership working makes sense at a practical level – especially in the current economic climate. As funding streams are cut and budgets reduced, organisations can come together to create stronger services that offer a breadth of experience and real value. Working together means shared learning too. Everyone benefits from the experience.
We work in partnership with organisations from all sectors:
- Statutory sector – including the police, the courts and judiciary, the National Offender Management Service (probation and prisons), the Crown Prosecution Service, the Home Office, primary care trusts, and local authorities – specifically youth offending teams and housing and childrens’ services departments
- Voluntary sector – including organisations working in drug and alcohol treatment, mental health, disability, young people’s services, education and employment support
- Private sector – including private service providers and local employers
