More resources for early intervention in Nottingham welcome
Nacro, the crime reduction charity has welcomed the announcement of the first early intervention pilot in Nottingham.
Commenting, Paul Cavadino, Nacros Chief Executive, said:
Putting more resources into preventing crime makes much more sense than waiting until children offend and then having to spend enormous sums on processing them through the penal system.
Support for families under stress is crucial to reducing crime and we are delighted that the Government has recognised the voluntary sectors role in providing this support.
Nacros own work supporting families in Nottingham has already shown that it can have successful results in preventing children wasting their lives in criminal behaviour.
