Become a volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to develop your potential, gain work experience and boost your CV while making a real difference to people’s lives.
Volunteers play a crucial role in our work and are treated as important members of the team.
In return for sharing your time, you will have new experiences and challenges, meet new people, and get involved in exciting activities within your local community. You will also develop your skills, through training, day-to-day support, supervision and feedback. We provide certificated training wherever possible: 80% of regular volunteers on our youth projects receive certificated training in areas such as child protection, drugs and alcohol awareness, sports coaching, and youth and community work.
In a survey, 97% of our volunteers said they felt valued by Nacro. They said they were welcomed and treated as part of the team, and were given responsibility and encouragement. 99% said they would encourage others to volunteer for Nacro.
Opportunities include:
- providing sports coaching for young people
- offering mentoring or peer support to prisoners and vulnerable adults
- supporting young people who have been excluded from school
