About the service
The Nacro 5-Alive Project provides disadvantaged members of the community with positive activities in order to develop their self-esteem and discover new interests and skills utilising the new Nacro Health and Fitness Centre here in Sheffield.
In particular the project works with those considered ‘hardest to reach’ within the local community including disaffected young people and those with an offending or anti-social behavioural background. We look to get more people involved in community sport and delivers a number of fitness activities on a weekly basis.
What will I get out of it?
Those accessing the project will:
- gain increased self confidence
- discover new skills
- achieve NGB qualifications (Gym Instructor Level 2/Sports Leaders Level 1)
- improve their leadership skills
- improved their fitness
- increase their awareness of health issues
