About the service

Nacro Becws Pesda Bakery helps people secure meaningful and sustainable employment following a period of intensive training and support at either a sourdough bakery (Becws Pesda) or printing facility (Premier Graphics). The service is designed to motivate and provide individuals with the skills to gain permanent employment.

We provide:

  • a gradual introduction back into the labour market, on flexible, 30hours per week contracts.
  • motivational support and encouragement for participants to take responsibility for their own career paths
  • accredited transferable skills and offering mainstream qualifications (Institute of leadership and Management)
  • external work opportunities
  • support and advice with benefits and job searches

What will I get out of it?

  • a gradual, supportive introduction back into the labour market.
  • paid national minimum wage
  • practical work experience at either venue as well as an external placement with a local employer.
  • qualifications relevant to the workplace such as fire safety, first aid, health and safety etc.
  • specific qualifications relevant to the individual such as literacy, numeracy, IT, food hygiene etc.
  • job search support
  • disclosure advice
  • cash handling experience
  • customer care experience
  • opportunity to gain employment referees.
  • support to overcome any other barriers.

Participants must be between: 18 and 64

people aged over 18 who are not in education training or employment
