About the service
If you don't get on with school, work or training but love music, this project could be for you. We'll help you qualify in music, literacy and numeracy and you'll be able to gain all-round skills for life.
What will I get out of it?
- Qualifications between level 1 and 2 in music technology
- NCFE Awards, certificates and diplomas will be on offer.
- Literacy and numeracy skills,
- The opportunity to complete and ICT, literacy and numeracy qualification
- Wider key skills at Level 1
- Accredited courses such as health and safety, moving and handling,
- Non-accredited qualifications such as ‘getting into work’, quality for you and good tenants awards, challenging behavior and dying to drive.
- Personal and social skills - learners can access City & Guilds
- Self development through learning qualification 3071 where they work through units to develop their personal and social skills.
- Personal and social skills via outside agencies e.g. sexual health and drug awareness
- Various work areas via work tasters - learners will explore the work areas of their interest via work tasters and vocational projects accessing getting into work, a course specifically designed to overcome barriers to work, improve application form filling, improved interview technique and communication skills
- Awareness of equality and diversity
Service information
Type of service: Education and employment advice
Participants must be between: 16 and 18
- Young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (including mild to moderate learning difficulties).
- Young offenders.
- Young people at risk of being influenced into non-participation/offender behaviour/drug and substance abuse through gang culture.
- Drug and alcohol users (including other health related issues).
- Teenage parents (or teenage parents to be).
- Young carers.
- Those leaving care.
- Those who have been previously excluded from school pre-16.
- Those who drop out of education, employment and training and consequently rejoin the NEET register.
- Under-represented groups.
