About the service

Nacro Services Hartlepool helps young people who are not in education,training or work to learn new skills and gain qualifications.

The service is designed to prepare young people to move on into Further Education, Apprenticeships or work, by delivering training and qualifications in areas including music production, construction, English, maths and IT, and personal and social skills development.

We provide:

  • clear information and guidance on job and training options
  • support to help overcome barriers that are stopping people from working or training
  • support to improve employability skills, including with gaining qualifications such as NVQs, Technical Certificates or Key Skills
  • help finding opportunities including work placements and college courses
  • access to the Education Maintenance Allowance

What will I get out of it?

  • skills such as basic plastering, bricklaying, joinery, DIY, hairdressing and horticulture
  • increased confidence, self esteem and motivation
  • recognised credit based qualifications
  • improved communication, social and employability skills
  • economic wellbeing
  • support with healthy eating, dealing with substance misuse and keeping fit
  • the chance to be involved in the design and delivery of the learning programme
