About the service
Nacro Hartlepool Foundation Learning Programme is for young people who want to develop new skills and progress into work, an apprenticeship or college. We’ll give you the confidence and the qualifications you need to achieve your potential and get ahead.
What will I get out of it?
We’ll help you work towards accredited qualifications and find work experience placements in areas of work which interest you. You’ll get full support and guidance from our trainers every step of the way. We can offer you qualifications in:
- mechanics
- business administration
- functional skills, eg, in English, maths and ICT
- hair and beauty
- joinery
- construction skills
- preparation for the armed forces
- health and safety
You’ll develop new skills, including:
- interview skills
- reading and writing skills
- communication skills
- how to write a CV
- how to search for a job
These skills and qualifications will help improve your chances of finding and keeping work.
What else?
- Up to £30 a week (means tested) EMA.
- Recreational outings and various fun activities.
- Work placements in many different vocational areas.
- Help, understanding and support with anything life throws at you.

Type of service: Foundation training
Participants must be between: 16 and 18
The project is open to anyone:
- not in education
- available for 16 hours a week or more
- committed to getting a job, apprenticeship or going to college
