About the service

Nacro Surrey Alternative Education Scheme helps to equip young people who have disengaged from mainstream school with the skills to return to learning or move on to work or college. This is a flexible roll on/roll off scheme for KS4 learners.

Learners work towards GCSE equivalent qualifications and functional skills, as well as vocational qualifications in sport, creative art and construction.

We provide:

• imaginative activities designed to inspire and excite participants through formal and informal learning
• work and assessment processes based on practical and emotional skills
• the option to return to mainstream learning or to move on to other learning opportunities such as E2E
• a portfolio of work, comprehensive CV and training in interview preparation skills
• increase in confidence, self esteem and communication skills through team building
• learner forums and vocational activities
• support with finding and maintaining a sustainable progression placement in training, employment or further education
