About the service
Nacro Longton Future Families Project helps girls under the age of 19 to prepare for motherhood and also supports young mums once they have had their baby. The service is designed to equip them with the skills and support they need by offering a range of training and support. We provide:
- training sessions focusing on health in pregnancy, labour and caring for a baby
- one-to-one support from midwives and health visitors specialising in working with teenage mothers
- support in accessing other services, such as substance misuse, housing and benefits
- access to ongoing education to enable young mothers to get qualifications and have a successful career
What will I get out of it?
- National Open College Network qualifications in independent living, money management and budgeting, and healthy living and nutrition for children and parents
- Help to progress on to further education or a career
- Help with parenting skills, how to care for your baby and child and preparing for labour and birth
- Support with business administration, customer service and IT skills
- Help to develop your confidence and personal and social skills

Participants must be between: 16 and 19
Participants must be: Female
Anyone who is pregnant or a mother and not in employment, education or training.
