About the service

Nacro Basford House Accommodation Project helps ex-offenders to resettle in to the community and so prevent further offending by providing accommodation, support and supervision.

We provide:

  • a resettlement plan tailored to individual needs
  • training and support to develop independent living skills
  • help with claiming benefits, accessing services and finding work
  • support to access and maintain tenancies in independent accommodation

What will I get out of it?

  • a chance to resettle into the community, in your own short-term or permanent accomodation, following a custodial sentence
  • the opportunity to develop the day to day living skills necessary for independent living
  • advice and assistance with welfare rights, budgeting money, household maintenance and establishing routines
  • counselling and support if you have experienced, or are experiencing trauma
  • support and guidance to ensure that you receive access to appropriate services from specialist agencies e.g. specialist substance abuse
  • help in maintaining contact with your personal support networks e.g. family and friends
  • a chance to maximise your opportunities for training, education and career development
