About the service
Nacro St Helens STAMP Project helps young people at risk of offending or who are disengaged from school. We give motor vehicle training as a way of engaging young people and diverting them from crime.
The service is designed to offer alternatives to mainstream education, by running flexible programmes that provide the most appropriate package for each individual.
We provide:
- motor vehicle training in a real work environment
- issue based sessions e.g. drugs, sexual health, crime and consequences, anger management
- the option to return to mainstream learning or to move on to other learning opportunities
- personal and social development - attendance, timekeeping, handling money, personal hygiene etc.
What will I get out of it?
- the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised qualifications
- the chance to learn motor vehicle work skills in a real work environment
- awareness of issues affecting development and solutions to overcome these issues
- a safe and healthy environment to learn and develop
- the option to return to mainstream learning or to move on to other learning opportunities
