About the service
Nacro Prison Resettlement Service helps people who are in prison to manage the transition to living in the community. Through working on the inside, through the gate and on the outside, the service provides short-term support to 50 prisoners (including 5 young offenders) seeking to be re-housed in the Liverpool area. We help people find work and stable housing, in order to make a smooth transition between custody and the community and reduce the likelihood of reoffending by offering practical advice and tailored support.
We provide:
- opportunities to re-engage with learning and gain qualifications
- the chance to develop new personal, social and vocational skills and address problems affecting choices and behaviour
- support on accessing housing, benefits and other services
- psychosocial support to help with the emotional challenges of leaving prison
What will I get out of it?
We will find secure appropriate accommodation in time for release and enable people to develop the skills and knowledge required to deal with any issues that may arise
