About the service

Nacro Burnley Youth Inclusion Programme is a targeted service working young people who live in deprived areas within South West Burnley.

The project offers the young people a wide range of one-to-one and group support work to address current risk factors that young people are presenting with including social exclusion, truancy, offending and anti-social behaviour. The project also provides young people with a variety of positive and diversionary activites.

What will I get out of it?

You will be able to:

  • increase your school attendance
  • get help with keeping out of trouble
  • get involved with education, employment or training
  • reduce severity or prevalence of risk factors
  • get help with improving relationships with your parents and family
  • take part in sports and physical activity
  • get help to have a better life
  • find out about ways to improve your lifestyle
  • get advice about sexual health, diet, nutrition, drugs, alcohol and smoking

Service information

Type of service: Targeted youth work - older

Participants must be between: 13 and 17

  • Young people who are risk of becoming involved in crime, anti-social behaviour, truancy or exclusion from school.
  • Young people having family breakdown or undertaking risk taking behaviour such as substance misuse.
  • You must live in South West Burnley: Trinity, Coal Clough and Deerplay and Rosegrove and the project targets the areas of Stoops, Piccadilly, Plane Tree, Griffin, Hargher Clough and Barclay Hills.

How do I apply?

Referrals are accepted directly to the project by partner agencies organisations. A referral form must be completed by the referral agencies and parental or carer consent must be obtained prior to sending the referral on to the project.
