About the service

Nacro Pathways Project helps young people who are not in education or work to learn new skills and get qualifications. The service is designed to prepare young people to move on into further education, apprenticeships or work by offering them training and qualifications in construction, English, maths, IT, and personal and social development.

We provide:

  • clear information and guidance on job and training options
  • support to help overcome barriers that are stopping people from working or training
  • support to improve employability skills, including with gaining qualifications such as NVQs, technical certificates or Key Skills
  • help finding opportunities, including work placements and college courses
  • access to the Education Maintenance Allowance

What will I get out of it?

  • An Ascentis Level 1 certificate in Preparation for Employment in the Construction Industry
  • Functional skills qualifications including an OCR Level 1 certificate
  • Help with CVs and personal and social skills, such as communication skills and employability skills
  • A Construction Skills Certification Scheme card
  • Increased confidence and self-esteem

Service information

Type of service: Foundation training

Participants must be between: 16 and 18

Disadvantaged young people who may:
* have learning difficulties
* have been or are currently at risk of being excluded from mainstream education
* live in a high crime rate area and are at risk of offending
