About the service
Nacro Portland Young Mums to Be helps girls under the age of 19 to prepare for motherhood. The service is designed to give them the skills they need to improve their own and their baby's opportunities.
We provide:
- training sessions focusing on health in pregnancy, labour and caring for a baby
- one-to-one support from midwives and health visitors specialising in working with teenage mothers
- support to access other services, such as substance misuse, housing and benefits
- access to ongoing education to enable young mothers to get qualifications and find work
