About the service

Nacro Dorset Foundation Learning Programme is for young people who want to develop new skills and progress into work, an apprenticeship or college. We’ll give you the confidence and the qualifications you need to achieve your potential and get ahead.

What will I get out of it?

We’ll help you work towards accredited qualifications and find work experience placements in areas of work which interest you. You’ll get full support and guidance from our trainers every step of the way. We can offer you qualifications in:

• functional skills (literacy, numeracy and ICT)
• motor vehicle studies and vehicle technology
• creative media
• personal and social development
• sport and leisure
• parenting skills
• volunteering
• horticultural skills

You’ll develop new skills, including:

• interview skills
• reading and writing skills
• communication skills
• how to write a CV
• how to search for a job
• independent living skills
• team building skills

These skills and qualifications will help improve your chances of finding and keeping work.
