About the service
Nacro Peterborough Bumps to Babes is a 10 week course, designed to help teenage mums-to-be prepare for parenthood. The course offers practical skills as well as advice and training from specialist health professionals and other relevant agencies.
We provide:
- training sessions focusing on health in pregnancy, labour and caring for a baby
- one-to-one support from midwives and health visitors specialising in working with teenage mothers
- support in accessing other services, such as substance misuse, housing and benefits
- access to ongoing education to enable young mothers to get qualifications and have a successful career
What will I get out of it?
- increased confidence and self-esteem
- recognised qualifications
- access to the Education Maintenance Allowance
- a safe and friendly environment and an opportunity to meet other young mums-to-be.
