About the service
Nacro East of England HIAS Prisons Project supports prisoners across the east who need help finding accommodation before they are released. Risk and safety are always carefully considered when making these decisions in order to ensure the best outcome for both the prisoner and the community.
Partnership working is key to the success of this project and our staff have excellent relationships with accommodation providers and other agencies.
We provide:
- Support with tenancy issues, housing benefit, rent arrears, mortgages and securing appropriate accommodation for release
What will I get out of it?
- help to secure accommodation on release
- support to prevent debt accumulating whilst in prison
- key worker support
- support to rebuild family relationships

Type of service: Resettlement advice in prison
Participants must be between: 18 and 100
- Adult prisoners who are either sentenced or on remand.

Prisoners can apply directly to Nacro in the prison, we also take referrals from other agencies and prison officers.
