Publication of Safer Society
magazine was suspended in February 2008. For nearly a decade, Safer
Society provided a forum for an open, intelligent and creative debate
about crime, its causes and solutions. Articles by practitioners, academics
and experts in the field offered authoritative ,
up-to-date information about criminal justice and
community safety developments, as well as thoughtful reflections on
government policy and the wider problems of crime in the community.
This site provides an archive of Safer Society's perspective
on a decade of practice and policy in criminal
justice. By going to Back Issues you can
access featured articles and complete editions of every issue.
Nacro is very pleased that Safer Society's legacy will also live
on through an exciting arrangement with the
publishers of Community Safety Journal. From
April 2008, Community Safety Journal includes a Safer Society
supplement of information on innovative practice in the criminal justice
field, and an overview of important research findings and changes in policy
and practice.
