Nacro showcases young people's anthology

24-03-2010

Nacro announces the launch of My Wednesday Sunshine, a unique collection of beautifully-crafted and emotionally-charged creative work by a group of Newcastle-based service users.

Created in partnership with Streetwise, Connexions and Children In Need, this exciting anthology brings together a diverse range of poems, prose and pictures created by a group of young people keen to express their thoughts, values, hopes and fears on paper.

The group of young people who took part in this creative project were all Nacro learners, aged 16-20, many of whom were facing daunting challenges and obstacles in their lives, including self-harm.

Since completing their time with Nacro, and having seen their work published here, many of the learners have gone on to college, university, employment and volunteering.
