As well as resettlement, Mervyn specialises in issues around CRB checks and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, vetting and barring and recruiting safely.

Mervyn has worked for Nacro for 28 years, during which time he has written extensively on crime and criminal justice, as well as resettlement. He manages the Nacro helpline, which deals with 40,000 enquiries a year on housing, employment and other issues affecting prisoners and ex-offenders.
