Derbyshire crime-fighter donates prize to charity
17-11-2009
A Derbyshire policeman who won a National Justice Award last month for his pioneering boxing scheme, will today be presenting his £1000 prize to the crime reduction charity Nacro.
Sgt Stephen Osbaldeston has been working in partnership with Nacro for the last six years to give boxing lessons to over 50,000 Derbyshire teens. This ground-breaking scheme has cut crime by keeping young people off the streets and building their confidence.
Stephen was presented with a National Justice Award in October. Today, he will be attending a boxing session for young people to hand over his £1000 prize to Nacro, as a thank you to them for their continued support for the scheme.
