We are the longest established criminal justice charity in the country, and the only crime reduction charity that works with people at every stage of the criminal justice system: from prevention through bail, community and custodial sentencing, to rehabilitation for ex-offenders. In addition to the rich variety of projects that we run around England and Wales, we are unique in providing:

• accommodation through our role as a Registered Social Landlord, with 500 homes and support services to ex-offenders and those at risk of offending, including hard-to-place tenants
• our Policy Unit, which analyses current policy and develops responses, to develop cutting-edge interventions that draw on the latest best practice
• our extensive prevention activities with young people
• we run the majority of Youth Intervention Programmes (YIPs) across England and Wales
• the Resettlement Plus helpline, which offers specialist expertise to 38,000 people each year, adding value to any resettlement project
• our unique learning programme, which offers basic skills and job skills development, preparation and vocational training to 11,000 learners each year
• our National Centre for Restorative Justice, which won the 2009 Justice Award for Tackling Youth Crime.
