Volunteers play a
vital role in Nacro’s youth projects, community mediation work and its
education and employment schemes – and a growing part in our work with
prisoners. Volunteers offer their time, skills and experience and, in
return, Nacro offers training and a chance to get involved in positive and
effective activities. Volunteers join Nacro for all sorts of reasons - to give young people a good start in life and to put something back into the community; or to gain work experience, receive training, challenge themselves, and meet new people. Nacro volunteers get involved in many different roles, including:
Volunteers are recruited from the
communities in which Nacro operates. All volunteers have a clearly defined
role, agreed between the volunteer and the project, and receive a thorough
induction and ongoing support and training. |
