YIP Project Worker – Leeds

 

Salary: £17,658 per annum

Working for Nacro’s South Leeds Youth Inclusion Programme, you will promote the design, delivery and implementation of interventions which target young people aged 13-17 at risk of offending, social exclusion and exclusion from school. You will design and participate in the delivery of activities and interventions for all young people involved in the project, namely the core group of 50, their peers and siblings. You will also be responsible for assessing the client group and developing individual action plans for them. The ability to engage young people and sustain their involvement in the project will be key. You will need to be an excellent communicator and have the confidence and ability to negotiate and work with a variety of other agencies. You will have previous experience of working with children, young people and their families and an understanding of why young people become involved in antisocial and offending behaviour. Senior HR Advisor (temporary: 6-month minimum maternity cover) – Birmingham

 

Salary: £34,686 per annum

Reporting to the (London-based) HR Director and working closely with the Midlands Regional Director, you will provide a proactive HR business partnering service that includes advising on employee relations, equality and diversity, transfer of undertakings, re-organisation, restructuring and recruitment and selection. You will be responsible for developing and updating HR policies and procedures and the overall management of HR initiatives. With CIPD or equivalent qualifications, you should be an HR generalist with a sound knowledge of employment legislation, best practice HR initiatives and a sound understanding of equality issues. You must have a strong desire to help managers achieve their goals and have the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Doorstep Project Worker– Gwynedd/Ynys Mon

 

Salary: £17,355 per annum

A vacancy has arisen for a Project Worker delivering the “Doorstop” supported housing project across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon. The service provides housing related support for up to sixteen people, with substance misuse problems, to enable them to maintain their tenancies and develop the skills that they need to improve their life opportunities. The ability to engage people and sustain their involvement in the project will be key. You will need to be an excellent communicator and have the confidence and ability to negotiate and work with a variety of other agencies. Extensive travel will be necessary so you must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle for business use, or be able to show alternative arrangements for travel between locations. Nacro Service in Lincolnshire has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic staff team in establishing a new forward thinking short term emergency service to assist young people, aged 16-25 years who are experiencing difficulties in their current home, to avoid homelessness and its subsequent risks. This role will be working directly with young people to provide support and assistance. This role will be working directly with young people to provide support and assistance to secure accommodation or return home, to access welfare benefits, to maintain their health and to remain in education, training or employment. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop their own skills and that of the host families who would be providing the emergency accommodation. As Senior Project Worker your role would include working with, managing and supervising a team of dedicated volunteers and a full time member of staff. It will focus on a multi-agency approach to support young people and you will work closely with the team manager in the monitoring of information to further develop the scheme. ESF Tutor (temporary: until Dec 2010) – Woking

 

Salary: £17,658 plus £2000 labour market uplift, plus £1598 outer London weighting per annum

Closing date: 10 July 2009

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to deliver short European Social Fund (ESF) programmes to 14 – 19 year olds who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) or at risk of becoming NEET.  You will be required to work with challenging young people, helping them to progress into employment, further education or back into school by delivering a programme that will help with the development of the students’ personal, social and vocational skills.  You will need to be able to plan and deliver interesting and innovative sessions to small groups and record and monitor progress and achievement.  Previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour is essential.  An interest in the arts or sport is desirable.  You will be required to support the Berkshire ESF programmes as and when needed for which your travel expenses will be reimbursed.  Please note this position will be subject to a CRB check.

Training Organiser – Chatham

 

Salary: £19,436 plus £2000 labour market uplift per annum

Nacro Services in Kent is recruiting for a Training Organiser to be based at our centre in Chatham. The purpose of the role is to organise innovative and engaging Programmes for Entry to Employment and Alternative Curriculum Programmes for 14-16 year olds as required for our new Pathways construction Building. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of training staff. You must have the professional skills necessary to train young people aged 14-19 and to work with adults, external agencies, schools and other professionals effectively. You will also have the ability to plan, produce written reports,  achieve targets and present information to staff. You will also be qualified to a minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy (or the equivalent), have proven training or teaching experience, will preferably hold (or be working towards) a relevant teaching or training qualification and be committed to the new professional standards and teaching qualification routes. Experience of being a good team leader is essential and knowledge and understanding of people from disadvantaged backgrounds would be an advantage. This vacancy with Nacro’s Youth Homelessness Prevention Service in the county of Conwy is a temporary post for 6 months providing maternity leave cover. Employability and Skills Trainer – Peterborough

 

Salary: £17,658 per annum

Based in a team delivering Nacro’s Employability Skills programme, this role involves training small groups of unemployed adults to deliver the Asdan Employability Skills Award. The job also involves identifying and negotiating work placements with employers, monitoring and reviewing clients’ progress and helping them overcome their barriers to employment. You should have a relevant qualification in English and mathematics and be qualified or experienced in the use of IT to a minimum of NVQ level 2. This post also includes supporting other trainers in the delivery of basic skills where necessary. You must hold, or be prepared to work towards, the new teaching qualifications. Regional Business Development Manager – London

 

Salary: £41,087 (inclusive of London weighting) per annum (pay review pending)

Nacro has a vacancy in London for a Regional Business Development Manager. The post-holder will be responsible for building relationships and identifying new sources of business in order to generate sustainable growth in service delivery in London and to promote Nacro’s reputation both locally and nationally. This post will also have line management responsibility for Business Development Managers in Nacro’s southern region. Applicants must have experience of the following: contributing to strategy and policy at an executive level; managing financial information; knowledge of the procurement process within the criminal justice system and of the Learning and Skills Council, local authorities and other associated sector areas; as well as an understanding of the issues facing Nacro’s service users. Extensive travel is a core element of the role. The drive and ability to lead the development of business in London through the project management of complex bids in partnership with delivery managers within the region is of paramount importance. This post will have national thematic lead responsibility for a key development growth area, and the management and development of relationships with key stakeholders is also extremely important.
